Description
Protecta FR Acrylic is a flexible, water-based fire-rated sealant for linear joints and service penetrations in fire-rated walls and floors. Once cured, it retains a degree of movement capability and helps maintain fire, smoke, acoustic and air-sealing performance.
Key features
- Suitable for approved joints and service openings in gypsum, masonry, concrete and cross-laminated timber constructions
- Forms a durable intumescent char when exposed to fire
- Thermally activates at approximately 180°C
- Can provide fire resistance of up to four hours depending on the tested construction and seal detail
- Supports acoustic insulation and airtightness
- Available as single 310ml tubes or boxes of 25
Typical applications
Use around cables, metal pipes and other approved services, or for linear joints where a flexible acrylic fire seal is specified.
Installation note: Apply over the specified backing material and follow the approved width-to-depth ratio, minimum seal depth and curing conditions in the current Protecta instructions.
